How to Add Color to Black & White Photography

There are many computer programs that allow you to convert your black and white photos to color or add color to specific areas to make them more dramatic. These programs take much of the time out of coloring your black and white photos by hand with paints and oils. Plus, you don't even need a very steady hand to accomplish this task.

Instructions

    1

Scan your photo with a scanner to put pictures on your computer. If you don't have a scanner, take your prints down to a local photo developing shop and have them put the images onto a disk. It is recommended to load all the photos into a "New Folder" so they are easily locatable.

    2

Open the photo editing software program on your computer. "Would you like to discover digital photography approaches that carry expert photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would assist you out in doing so. To find spectacular images we primary need to have to look at some fundamental photography strategies. The initial one I am able to share with you is uncover about light. You can find everything regarding photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Whenever you uncover about light and in what way it interacts with the direct environment then your photos will get improved..". From the "File" menu, select either "Import Pictures" or "Find Pictures." Locate the photos you put onto your computer that you want to work with. Open the first photo you want to work with.

    3

Select the area of the photo you want to color using the freehand masking tool. Outline the area you want to color. Each program will have a different name for this selection tool, which allows you to set the area of the photo you want to color.

    4

Choose the color you want to put into the photo from the list of color options. Select the paintbrush or spray paint icon to start coloring the photo.

    5

Move the mouse to the area of the photo you want to color and click on the area to begin adding color. Save the photo when you are finished coloring it.

How to Dress for a Portrait Sitting

When you have a portrait made it really helps to dress accordingly for the sitting. With the many types of portraits available such as outdoor, family and children, the wardrobe can make all the difference. Here are some things to consider when you dress for a portrait sitting.

Instructions

    1

Choose the location of the portrait sitting. You might want to have it done outside, you might be going to a portrait studio or you may be having them done at your home. You want to dress for the location so you will need to decide where to have the picture taken.

    2

Choose coordinating clothing. If you are having a single portrait sitting this will not be a problem. You can wear an outfit that you enjoy and that you know complements your style. Otherwise, you want to choose clothing for each family member that complements the other person's clothing. Stay away from patterns and really bright colors if possible and stick with more solid common colors.

    3

Children should wear something that will not be outdated for many years to come. "Are you looking to learn digital photography systems that bring experienced photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques could help you out in doing so. To obtain impressive photographs we primary need to look at some basic photography strategies. The preliminary one I am able to share with you is find out about light. You can locate all the things about photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Anytime you discover about light and in what way it interacts with the direct environment then your pictures will get superior..". Depending on the child's age, they may have their whole outfit in the picture so you want to dress them accordingly from head to toe, just in case.

    4

When having a portrait sitting done outdoors, you want to stick with solid and simple nature colors. It can be tricky finding an outfit to go well with the outdoor background, so by choosing one or two different shades, you can be assured everyone will coordinate well and blend in with the outdoor background as well.

How to Create a Web Page for E-commerce Photography

How to Create a Web Page for E-commerce Photography

Selling your own photography and stock photos online is a great way to make some extra cash or to start a full-time online business from the comfort of your home. In order to reach the world and your potential customers with your high-quality photographs, you will need to create a topnotch Web page. There are many crucial elements to creating a great website.

Instructions

    1

Plan the outline for your photography website. Decide beforehand what type of photography services you will be offering. Do you want to sell only stock photos or actual pieces of photography as artwork? Do you want to offer your photography skills for hire? You will also need a name for your website, a domain name and a snappy, creative tag line to summarize what you and your photography are all about. The domain name should be the name of your business and should be as short as possible so it is easy to remember.

    2

Register your domain name with a registrar. The Internet is full of domain name registrars that will help you register your domain so that no one else can claim it. The domain name is your website's location, or the address where the site can be found. There are a couple of affordable companies you can use to purchase your domain name, such as GoDaddy and Network Solutions.

    3

Purchase a Web hosting package. Web hosting companies will publish your website on the Internet on their Web servers for a monthly fee. There are a variety of packages to choose from, but since you are starting a photography business, you will want to purchase a business package. Most business packages come complete with tools to design and set up your website along with free advertising helps and tools to spread the word about your business. HostMonster is one Web hosting option to check.

    4

Build the homepage of your photography website. Having a professional-looking homepage is essential to building a successful website. You will want to creatively display some of the best pieces of your photography on this page. Make some space for news, updates and sales for your photos. Include a brief summary of the main goals of your business and what you want to do with your photography.

    5

Create an "About Me" type of Web page. This will more or less be your biography page and will include all of your experience and education references. "Would you like to understand digital photography systems that bring professional photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would likely help you out in doing so. To obtain impressive images we primary want to look at some basic photography methods. The primary one I am able to share with you is uncover about light. You can discover every little thing regarding photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Whenever you learn about light and in what technique it interacts with the direct environment then your pictures will get improved..". Be sure to make it as personal as you possibly can to help draw people into the vision you have for your life and business and the services you have to offer.

    6

Add a Portfolio page and a section dedicated to your photographs. The portfolio can feature some of the major work you've done for clients, or that you've done personally, that reflects your absolute best work. The photograph section will end up being multiple pages, and you will need to organize your pictures by subject, style or texture if you are selling them as art or stock photos. It's best to organize by subject so that if people are looking for a specific type of photo (flowers, for instance), they will be able to find what they are looking for in the flower photo section.

    7

Publish your Web page and begin spreading the word about your website and your services. Create a Google AdWords advertising campaign to help drive traffic to your website. You may also want to create a blog (you can make a free one with Blogger) about photography to help drive traffic to your website and increase your business.

How to Use the Shutter to Control Motion in Photography

How to Use the Shutter to Control Motion in Photography

Shutter speed can reduce the blur that is the result of objects moving across the camera's view. The longer that the shutter is open, the less sharp an object will be in motion across the field of view. Speeding up the shutter, or reducing how long light is allowed to enter the camera, gives varying amounts of control over the effects of motion and of blur. It is possible, with a fast enough shutter speed, to freeze motion. The following steps will help you perfect your shutter technique.

Instructions

    1

Practice photographing objects in various speeds of motion. Using the slowest shutter speed that your camera allows, see what effect a longer duration has on objects moving at varying speeds across the camera's view.

    2

Increase shutter speed incrementally for an object moving at the same speed across your view. You will see the object with increasing clarity as the shutter speed increases.

    3

Use blur to create an impression of motion. Use slower shutter speeds on objects that are slowly moving. "Do you need to know digital photography systems that bring skilled photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques could assist you out in doing so. To become impressive pictures we initially need to look at some basic photography strategies. The initial one I am able to share with you is identify about light. You can come across everything about photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Each time you learn about light and in what approach it interacts with the direct environment then your images will get better..". This increases the sense of movement and speed. Blur should be used when it fits with the overall composition and commentary of the intended picture.

    4

Freeze motion to create commentary about objects that are moving quickly across your view. You can create contrasting images with rapid shutter speeds against secondary subjects. Play with reality for symbolic effect. Never freeze just for its own sake.
