How to Make a Darkroom Bag

How to Make a Darkroom Bag

Once you have set up your darkroom, you will need to assemble your tools for developing your film. Keeping the chemicals and smaller items you need in a bag that you designate as your darkroom bag is a great way to keep all of your materials accessible and in one place. Here are a few things to keep in your darkroom bag.

Instructions

    1

Purchase a medium size bag like a messenger bag. Put a small reference book in your bag. A resource to guide you through should you have questions is a good thing to have. Put several plastic or metal reels in your bag. You will load your film onto these.

    2

Store your developing chemicals in plastic bottles that you are less likely to break once you get into the darkroom. Some are concentrated liquids, but others require mixing ,so it is a good idea to have mixed them in a well-ventilated area and stored in a plastic bottle. Add these to your bag.

    3

Store your stop bath in a separate plastic bottle that is well-labeled and easily accessible in the dark.

    4

Keep a bottle of fixer stored in a plastic bottle as well. Label accordingly.

    5

Add containers of any extra materials you like to use. "Would you like to learn digital photography approaches that carry professional photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would likely support you out in doing so. To acquire impressive images we initially need to look at some basic photography strategies. The initial one I am able to share with you is find out about light. You can obtain all the things about photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Each time you learn about light and in what method it interacts with the direct environment then your shots will get more beneficial..". For example, wetting agent, hypo clearing agent, or fixer test solution. Make sure these are also accessible in the dark as well.

    6

Finally, keep a timer in your bag so you can be sure to process your film correctly and timely.

How to Reduce Digital Noise in an SLR Photograph

Digital cameras have become very advanced devices. The digital imaging sensor on most digital cameras is somewhat smaller in size than the old 35mm standard film plate. This sensor is responsible for most of the noise, or random speckles, created when taking a picture.

Instructions

    1

Read through the camera's user manual to determine if noise is a common occurrence for that particular model camera. Doing the research before making the purchase is the best defense against noise; many models simply handle noise better than others.

    2

Buy a digital SLR camera that incorporates a full-frame imaging sensor. The larger the imaging sensor, the better the light is distributed across the imaging area producing sharper, crisper images that exhibit little or no noise interference. Full frame SLRs are the most expensive SLR cameras sold.

    3

Use the camera's on-board noise reduction feature, if equipped. "Are you looking to understand digital photography solutions that deliver professional photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would likely guide you out in doing so. To obtain stunning images we first need to have to look at some essential photography strategies. The primary one I am able to share with you is find out about light. You can come across all the things regarding photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Each time you uncover about light and in what technique it interacts with the direct environment then your photos will get superior..". Most manufacturers offer some form of in-camera software to handle unwanted noise, or the camera reduces noise as it records images.

    4

Reduce the camera's ISO, or film speed. On digital cameras this number is only representative of film speed and the higher the ISO on many cameras, the higher the digital noise within the image.

    5

Purchase noise reduction software, such as Noise Ninja or Neat Image. Try out a few of these to determine which best reduces noise in the SLR photographs.

How to Remove Wrinkles From a Framed Picture

Now that digital photo editing software has become more accessible, you may wish to perform digital makeovers on the photos you have in your home. Wrinkle removal is one of the more popular photo editing techniques. "Do you want to understand digital photography approaches that deliver professional photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would likely guide you out in doing so. To obtain spectacular pictures we initially need to look at some fundamental photography techniques. The primary one I am able to share with you is identify about light. You can find all the things about photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Whenever you discover about light and in what way it interacts with the direct environment then your photos will get more beneficial..". Unfortunately, there is no way to directly remove wrinkles from a photo that is already printed and framed. However, it is possible to convert a photo to a digital image and edit it from there.

Instructions

    1

Remove the photo from the frame and scan it into your computer. Open the photo in your editing software.

    2

Select the clone or rubber stamp tool. Set the opacity to approximately 70 percent. If you wish to only soften wrinkles and not remove them, you can set it to a lower opacity.

    3

Find an area of skin on your subject that is even and smooth. Click on this area while holding down the Ctrl key. This will select it as your cloning point.

    4

Click on the wrinkles you want to repair. This will place a copy of the cloned area over the wrinkle.

    5

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you have cleared or softened the wrinkles from the area you are working on. Depending on the size of the area and the amount of coverage you are going for, it may take several clicks to get the results you want.

    6

Print the wrinkle-free photo and re-frame it.

Homemade Light Reflectors

Homemade Light Reflectors

Light reflectors allow you to illuminate the subject of your photographs from several angles using a single light source, enhancing the quality of your photos. You can purchase light reflectors at a camera store, or create cheap but effective homemade light reflectors. A homemade light reflector can be made out of any reflective material, but two popular choices are aluminum foil and white bed sheets.

Aluminum Foil Reflectors

To make a homemade aluminum foil light reflector, you will need aluminum foil, cardboard and spray adhesive. Supermarkets sell rolls of aluminum foil, and most hardware stores carry spray adhesive. You can use cardboard from an extra box you have around the house, or purchase it at an office supplies store.

Cut a flat piece of cardboard into a square or circle, of any size according to your preference. Larger pieces will allow you to reflect more light than smaller pieces, but they are more difficult to transport and position when you shoot photographs.

Remove enough aluminum foil from the package to cover the cardboard. If you have cut a large piece of cardboard, you may need to use several pieces of aluminum foil side-by-side. Coat one side of the cardboard with spray adhesive, and press the aluminum foil in place over the cardboard. Make sure to smooth the aluminum foil as you attach it to the cardboard. Once the adhesive dries, and wrinkles in the aluminum foil will be stuck there.

Instead of using aluminum foil, you can use white paper. White paper will reflect less light than aluminum foil, which is useful if you want softer or subtler lighting effects in your photographs. You can also attach aluminum foil to one side of the cardboard and white paper to the other side. This allows you to switch your light reflector during a shoot simply by flipping the board over.

Bed Sheet Reflectors

White bed sheets can also be used to reflect light. They will reflect similarly to a white paper on cardboard reflector. Bed sheets are useful because they can reflect a large area of light when stretched out, but in between shoots you can fold them up and transport them easily.

You can use bed sheets as light reflectors without any kind of support by placing them on the ground underneath the subject of your photo. This will reflect light upwards toward the subject, illuminating areas that lights often miss.

Alternatively, you can attach bed sheets to a stand to light photos from the sides. Purchase two wooden poles, and two short wooden 2-by-4s. "Are you looking to learn digital photography methods that carry expert photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques could support you out in doing so. To become stunning pictures we primary need to look at some imperative photography strategies. The preliminary one I am able to share with you is uncover about light. You can come across every little thing concerning photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Anytime you find out about light and in what technique it interacts with the direct environment then your shots will get improved..". Nail the poles to the 2-by-4s so that they will stand upright. When you are ready to shoot, set the two poles a few feet away from each other and drape the bed sheet over them.
