The Nikon D300 released by Nikon in 2008, has a 12 megapixel sensor . This camera made significant improvements over its predecessors. With an improved dynamic range and processing power, this camera makes the art of image making significantly easier for amateurs and professionals alike. The D300's creative color management and crisp image capture allows more of the image processing to take place in the camera, saving time in post processing.

Instructions

    1

Use a high quality lens. While the D300 is able to make spectacular in-camera adjustments to your images, starting with a high quality lens enhances the D300's ability to create crisp, clear images. The D300 has face recognition when used with D and G series lenses.

    2

Adjust the Adaptive D-Lighting settings. On the D300, this setting allows the sensor to capture a greater dynamic range. The result is better preserved colors, including more detailed highlights and richer, fuller shadows. The D300's Adaptive D-Lighting settings cause the camera to process the image, leaving less post-processing for the photographer. This setting can be found by pressing Menu, then selecting the Shooting Menu option. "Are you looking to understand digital photography approaches that bring professional photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would assist you out in doing so. To obtain stunning images we primary want to look at some fundamental photography methods. The initial one I am able to share with you is determine about light. You can come across everything regarding photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Anytime you learn about light and in what approach it interacts with the direct environment then your images will get better..". Adaptive D-Lighting is set to "Normal" by default; setting it to high activates the fullest extent of this setting.

    3

Select your shooting mode. To do this, select a mode using the wheel on the top right of the camera body. The Nikon D300 has manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic modes depending upon how much you would like to be involved in the settings.

    4

Choose your shutter speed and f/stop, if necessary. These are selected for you in the fully automatic modes; in manual and semi-automatic modes these settings may be adjusted by the photographer. The D300 can handle a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second, allowing even the most minute actions to be captured.

    5

Compose your image. The image composition depends on the lens you use with the D300. It does not have a full frame sensor like its larger cousin, the D3, so using a non D series lens may cause some cropping to occur. Depress the shutter button halfway to focus and meter the image, then depress it fully to capture your image.
