When you have a portrait made it really helps to dress accordingly for the sitting. With the many types of portraits available such as outdoor, family and children, the wardrobe can make all the difference. Here are some things to consider when you dress for a portrait sitting.

Instructions

    1

Choose the location of the portrait sitting. You might want to have it done outside, you might be going to a portrait studio or you may be having them done at your home. You want to dress for the location so you will need to decide where to have the picture taken.

    2

Choose coordinating clothing. If you are having a single portrait sitting this will not be a problem. You can wear an outfit that you enjoy and that you know complements your style. Otherwise, you want to choose clothing for each family member that complements the other person's clothing. Stay away from patterns and really bright colors if possible and stick with more solid common colors.
