Instructions

    1

Calibrate your scanner to ensure you are going to achieve the highest quality scan. Run the scan software and navigate to the calibration option. Your scanner should be calibrated with a scanner target produced from Endura papers. Use the input setting of Kodak Professional Q-60 Color Input Target / Q-60R2. Up-to-date calibration files for some scanners can be downloaded, ready to use from Kodak.

    2

Turn the scanner on and place your Kodak Endura print face down on the scanner. Align the print so that it fits to the corner of the scanner before closing the lid.

    3

Adjust the scan settings. Run your scanning software. You can use the software that came with the scanner or you could use other image manipulation software such as Photoshop and Paintshop Pro. Click "File" then "Scan" to start the scanning process. This should open up a scanning options window. Adjust the resolution by changing the dpi setting - 72 to 66 dpi will be fine for scanning to a computer. Select the file type you want to save your scanned image as, choose JPEG as this is a flexible format that works well with both color and black and white photographs.

    4

Preview your image. Scanning software always has an option to preview your image. Use this option to ensure that your image is going to scan exactly how you want it to. Take this opportunity to crop your image if you think it is necessary.

    5

Click scan or press the scan button on the scanner. Wait for the scanner to finish scanning you image, then it should appear on your computer screen in the software window. Save your completed scan.
