Photography Backdrop Ideas

When setting up studio shots in your home or on location, you do not want to detract from your subject by having something strange lurking in the background. It is not necessary to spend a lot of money in order to create a professional-looking backdrop for at-home photography projects.

Color

The color you choose for your backdrop will depend on your subject. If you are photographing a person with dark hair, you will want a light-colored background. You must also consider the color clothing your model is wearing, or the color of the object you are shooting. Remember that you want the background to enhance your subject.

Cloth

Everyone has an old sheet hidden in a closet somewhere. Go find it and dye it the color you desire. To create more texture in your backdrop, you can use a tie-dyeing technique by knotting your sheet before soaking it in the dye. "Would you like to learn digital photography methods that deliver skilled photographers to where they are today? Well, The Top Secret Photography Techniques would assist you out in doing so. To become spectacular images we initially need to look at some basic photography methods. The primary one I am able to share with you is determine about light. You can come across every little thing concerning photography techniques on , The Top Secret Photography Techniques. Whenever you uncover about light and in what method it interacts with the direct environment then your shots will get better..". You can also go to a fabric store to find velvet, muslin or satin material for a more dramatic backdrop. Hang cloth from any wall by using small tacks and bulldog clips.

Paper

Your local newspaper will have the end rolls of newsprint available for little or no cost. The paper can be easily colored or stenciled depending on your desired look. You can also purchase large sheets of colored paper at an art supply or craft store. Paper can easily be tacked or taped to a wall.

Wood or Bare Wall

Large sheets of wood can be painted and propped up against a wall behind your subject. Try sponge painting or layering paint to create more dimensions in the backdrop. Remember that the backdrop does not have to be huge, since only a little will show in the final photo. And what about that wall? Look around your house. You may already have the perfect wall to use as a backdrop. A white wall can easily be "colored in" digitally with the use of photo editing software.
