When pictures get wet or exposed to heat, they can stick together. Pulling the pictures apart can ruin the pictures. There is a trick to separate pictures that are stuck together. This trick has helped many people salvage their photos of their treasured memories. While this method often works, it is not fool proof. Use it at your own risk. This method should only be used on photographs that have been printed on professional photo paper, not home computer print outs.

Instructions

    1

Fill a large bowl of water up with cold water.

    2

Put the pictures that are stuck to one another in the bowl of water and let the pictures sit for two minutes.

    3

Put your hands in the bowl of water, grab the pictures by the corners, and gently try to pull the pictures apart. If the pictures do not pull apart easily, do not force them. Instead, let the pictures remain in the water for a longer period of time and try again later. The pictures may need to sit in the water overnight before they will easily pull apart.

    4

Remove the pictures from the water once you have separated them. Only touch the pictures on the corners. Place the pictures, image side up, on top of a counter to dry. Make sure that the pictures are not touching one another or any other piece of paper while they are drying. Allow the pictures to sit, untouched, until they are fully dry.

    5

Flatten the pictures. The dry pictures will be curved instead of flat. To flatten them, place them inside of a large heavy book, and leave them there overnight.
