Pennsylvania offers a variety of photo contests for kids, including cutest kid contests, the prize being your child on the cover of a magazine, and photography contests for children, in which child photographers win prizes based on the photos they took. Cover Kids Contest
Central Penn Parent holds "Cover Kids Contests" once a year in August. The winning picture will grace the cover of Central Penn Parent's October issue. All photos will appear in the magazine. This photo contest is for pictures of kids ages newborn to 14, and both professional and amateur photos are allowed. Each picture must contain one child only, and the cost for the contest, as of February 2011, is $20 per child. Photos should be emailed to the magazine or mailed on a CD.
Times Herald Beautiful Baby and Cutest Kid Contest
The Times Herald, located in Norristown and Montgomery County, hold occasional Beautiful Baby and Cutest Kid photo contests. As of February 2011, a contest was held and the results will be out in March. The contest requires you to pay a $10 entry fee and upload your favorite photo of your baby or kid. You must register with the Times Herald, and submit your picture to the appropriate age category. You then have friends and family vote for the best pictures. All photos entered will be published in the magazine, but winners will receive gift certificates. The February 2011 prizes are $25 gift certificates to a local bowling alley and zoo and a free professional photograph.
Pennlive Central PA Amateur Photo Contests
Pennlive Magazine holds several amateur photography contests per month. While some contests are meant for adults, such as "best nightclub shots," others are for any age group, such as "fun in the snow," holiday and season-themed, and wildlife-themed contests. You can either submit a photograph of your child or submit a photograph by your child for these contests. To enter a contest, register with the site, creating logins. Upload the photo, maximum size of 3MB, and briefly explain the photo. Entry is free and the winner of these contests get announced in the magazine and, as of February 2011, a free professional print of the photo submitted.
Lehigh Valley Live Photo Contests
Lehigh Valley Magazine often hosts amateur photo contests. Some of the photo contests are seasonal "cutest kid" photo contests, and some are contests where you could submit photos your kid has taken. To submit photos to a contest, you will need to set up a community account with the magazine, creating login information. You can then upload photos, size limit being 3MB. For most contests you can upload as many photos as you want for free. Photo contest winners will be announced in the magazine and will often receive prizes of tickets to community events.
