How to Get Rid of Pixels When Zooming in on a Picture

You can view pictures up close with the help of the zoom feature on computers and photo editing programs. An unfortunate side effect of the zoom feature is "pixelated" photos that are blurry or grainy in appearance.The tiny pixels that make up a picture become increasingly visible as you zoom in, making it difficult to observe the details of an image. There are a few steps that can reduce this effect when zooming in on a picture.

Instructions

Open the picture in your computer's photo editing program. If you don't already have one, you can download a free program such as Picasa, Photoscape or Fotoflexer.

Navigate to the "Image" toolbar of the program.

Select the "Image Size" option.

Type "300" into the "Resolution" box. Click "OK."

Zoom in on the picture by pressing the "CTRL" and "+" keys on your keyboard.

Change the resolution to 400 or higher if the image still contains large pixels upon zooming in.
